Financial numbers for the synod's operating budget are in for the second quarter of the 2008-09 fiscal year—from all indications it appears the synod's operating budget remains headed for a $3.7 million deficit by the end of the fiscal year. February's financial figures show support for the synod's operating budget remains strong. Through the first eight months of the 2007-08 fiscal year, support of $24.6 million exceeded expenses of $22.1 million by $2.5 million.
