VEBA premium holiday

Filed Under: donate, gift, MCG, ministry of christian giving, VEBA

A letter from the Ministry of Christian Giving is being mailed this week reminding congregations and other synod entities that those who participate in VEBA, the synod's health care plan, will be receiving November health insurance premium statements reading "zero amount due." VEBA was able to enact the premium holiday because of its reserves due to less use and better discounts from providers.

The synod convention this summer encouraged congregations to remit to WELS the monthly premium amount. This week's mailer includes instructions on how to submit that offering.

If all calling bodies were to respond to this encouragement, more than $2.5 million of additional support would be available for the synod's missions, ministerial education program, and other ministries.
