Teen members of youth rally planning committee selected

Filed Under: CYD, Teen, Youth Discipleship, Youth Rally

Members of the planning committee for the 2009 WELS International Youth Rally have been selected: Nicole Livigne, 16, is a member at Shepherd of the Palms, Jupiter, Fla.; Carlton “CJ” Fischer, 15, is a member at Petra, Sauk Rapids, Minn.; and Tatum Gormley-Nettles, 16, is a member at Green Valley, Henderson, Nev.

These teens will help plan the 2009 youth rally and provide valuable insight as to what teens want. “[Having teens on the committee] gives us great ideas,” says Dr. Joel Nelson, administrator for WELS Youth Discipleship. “These young members of the church are very creative and caring, and their involvement with rally planning makes the rally program more credible with teens.”

This is the third time teen members have been appointed to the rally planning committee. “This group, like the others before them, comes highly recommended,” says Nelson. “They are spiritual, intelligent, energetic, and articulate members of the body of Christ. We can’t wait to start working with them.”

The committee’s first meeting is scheduled for Nov. 10. To learn more about this year's committee members, visit www.wels.net/jump/youthrallyteens.
