Committee on Relief assesses fire damage in California

The WELS Committee on Relief recently returned from a first-hand look at the areas affected by wildfires in California. Although no WELS churches or schools were destroyed in the fires, the Committee on Relief has contributed $10,000 to two churches to help with immediate needs.
Aaron Glaeske, pastor at Ascension, Escondido, Calif., says at least two members there have lost their homes. No loss of life or serious injuries among WELS members were reported, although numerous families were forced to evacuate.
